Meet TaylorLee!

Being an artist was never my plan. I’ve always had one dream in this life. My dream was to be a mom. I wanted to be a mom, stay home with my children, and work part-time, if the finances allowed, while staying home with my babies. And have enough freedom to visit my family whenever I could. And it still is. But fate decided that’s not my current plan in life. It might be possible, but it’s an expensive dream. So in the meantime, I had to find another thing that would bring light into my day to day life. Something that would fill the hole that I didn’t know I was going to be forced to have. I‘ve always loved reading, so one day, I picked up a book about magic, faeries, and dreams. Something that reminded me of my beloved childhood princess movies (which I still love), and memories with my sister, my mom, my aunt, and my grandma. A series that speaks to so many of us. It reminded me of a dream that was long-lost, one that I’ve had since I was a child but didn’t think it was possible to make happen. Because social media didn’t really exist while I was growing up, I thought being an artist would be impossible. As an adult, I realized that was silly, and if I have the patience and determination to practice it, one day, maybe I can be an artist while also living my original dream.
I paint about magic. About love, about hope, loss, and fairytales. Fairytales aren’t necessarily always a happy story. The characters in them are like us; they go through hard times and have to fight for what they want their life to be. They have to dream. Like us, we have to dream. We need to appreciate every single moment we’re given. I believe we need to treat our life like a fairytale; we need to survive for the magical life we deserve. I paint because I want to represent what it feels like to be a reader. To represent the power and magic a book can do for us. We deserve to be the main character in our own story. I hope my work can provide with you inspiration to live your best fairytale life, and to never give up on your dreams. My ultimate dream for my artwork is to hopefully inspire others to have more hope in this lifetime, and to help you feel seen. To follow your dreams, no matter how old or young you discover them. And to be reminded of your favorite books. Through my art, I hope you feel like you are adding a little bit of magic into your home, and can see yourself within that magic. We only have one chance at life and are given such a finite amount of time, so we might as well make it feel like we’re in a fairytale. I dedicate my work to the dreamers, the readers, the quiet souls, the people who need magic in their life, and to the people who need help that realizing going after their dreams is okay. I dedicate my work to you. Thank you for being here, fellow faeries.
